India, Oct. 21 -- York Cinemas said it has stopped screening Nelson Dilipkumar and Rajinikanth’s film Jailer 2 in Canada, citing exhibitor-distributor issues, effective Oct. 21, 2026, after the film grossed over ₹540 crore worldwide by Dussehra.
Screenings halted from Oct. 21
York Cinemas said in an Instagram statement that Jailer 2 “will no longer be screening at York Cinemas effective Wednesday, October 21, 2026,” adding that the decision was due to “circumstances beyond the control of York Cinemas.”
The exhibitor said it had taken the decision after attempting to resolve the matter and apologised to patrons for any inconvenience caused.
