India, Sept. 1 -- A jury was set to hear closing arguments in the murder trial of Duane "Keffe D" Davis, the former gang leader accused of helping orchestrate the 1996 killing of rap icon Tupac Shakur.
Decades-Old Case Nears Verdict
Davis, 63, has been charged with murder with a deadly weapon and allegations of promoting gang activity in connection with Shakur's fatal shooting in Las Vegas. If convicted, he faces the possibility of life in prison.
Shakur was shot on September 7, 1996, after attending a Mike Tyson boxing match. He was travelling in a car near the Las Vegas Strip when another vehicle pulled alongside and opened fire. The rapper died from his injuries six days later.
