India, Oct. 5 -- Tom Cruise's latest film Digger has endured a disappointing opening weekend in India, collecting only Rs1.55 crore net in its first three days and recording a sharp decline from the actor's previous major releases.

Dismal opening weekend

Digger opened at Rs65 lakh net on Friday before its earnings fell by around 30% on Saturday. The film failed to recover on Sunday, taking its three-day total to just Rs1.55 crore. Its gross collection in India has also remained below $200,000.

The performance stands in stark contrast to Cruise's recent theatrical successes in the country. Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning crossed Rs100 crore in India, while Top Gun: Maverick came close to Rs50 crore.
