India, Aug. 5 -- Actor Sunny Deol has said that portraying ordinary Pakistanis with empathy in Batwara 1947 was one of the film's biggest creative challenges, given the present political climate, while stressing that the story is rooted in humanity rather than ideology.
Film Balances History and Human Emotion
Speaking about the Rajkumar Santoshi directorial, Sunny said the Partition drama does not attempt to justify or vilify any community. Instead, it highlights the emotional cost of the 1947 division through the lives of ordinary people caught in the violence. He noted that the film seeks to remind audiences that humanity exists on both sides of the border despite historical and political conflicts.
