India, Aug. 31 -- Brand New Day continued its strong run at the North American box office, leading the weekend rankings for a fifth consecutive week despite the arrival of new competition and the return of students to schools.

Spidey Extends Box Office Lead

Sony's latest Spider-Man film earned $22 million in the United States and Canada over the weekend, taking its domestic total to $891.5 million. The movie has also generated another $1.44 billion internationally, according to industry tracker Exhibitor Relations. The sustained performance keeps the Tom Holland and Zendaya starrer firmly ahead of its weekend rivals.
