India, Sept. 1 -- Prosecutors told a Nevada jury that former gang leader Duane "Keffe D" Davis assembled a group and set out to find Tupac Shakur after the rapper and his entourage allegedly assaulted Davis' nephew on the night of the 1996 shooting.
Revenge at the Centre of Prosecution's Case
During closing arguments, Clark County prosecutor Binu Palal said Davis was driven by anger after his nephew was beaten at a casino on September 7, 1996. According to the prosecution, Davis obtained a firearm, gathered his associates and went in search of Shakur and record executive Marion "Suge" Knight.
Davis, 63, had pleaded not guilty to a murder charge involving a deadly weapon in the decades-old case.
