India, Feb. 26 -- Actor Naveen Shankar was steadily making a name for himself as a performer to look out for with films like Dharani Mandala Madhyadolage, Hondisi Bareyiri and even Gurudev Hoysala, in which he played an antagonist, when he returned with a leading man role in Kshetrapati . The directorial debut of Shrikant Katagi, Kshetrapati, set in north Karnataka, took a deep dive into the problems faced by the farming sector and explored how one man sets out to find a solution. Though well intentioned, the film was said to be overly sentimental in treatment and did not work well at the box office.
