India, Aug. 12 -- Oscar-winning actress Jamie Lee Curtis is stepping into a new role behind the scenes with NBC's upcoming sitcom Newlyweds, combining her return to the multi-camera comedy format with a long-awaited chance to lead a television production as a producer.
Curtis Takes Control
Newlyweds stars Tea Leoni and Tim Daly as a middle-aged couple whose impulsive romance leads them to marry only days after meeting. The comedy is scheduled to premiere on NBC in October.
For Curtis, the project represents a return to the sitcom environment she had wanted to experience for years. She said she had repeatedly sought an opportunity to work in the multi-camera format, drawn to its rehearsal process, timing and interaction with live cameras....
