India, July 15 -- The recent trailer launch of Alejandro G. Inarritu's satirical comedy Digger has revealed that Indian actors Vir Das and Fahadh Faasil were strong contenders for the role eventually secured by Riz Ahmed.

Vir Das recently disclosed on social media that he underwent two rounds of auditions for the high profile project. He admitted to feeling severely crestfallen after the production chose British actor Riz Ahmed for the part. Despite the personal setback, Das praised the film's writing, characterizing the script as insanity in a positive way. His revelations surfaced through a now deleted post on X which gained significant traction on digital platforms.
