India, July 24 -- The release of the Netflix documentary "A Toxic Love Story" has brought renewed attention to the criminal actions of former U.S. Deputy Marshal Ian Diaz and his then-wife, Angela Connell.
Orchestrating a Malicious Scheme
Ian Diaz and Angela Connell collaborated to execute a complex cyberstalking campaign targeting Michelle Hadley, who was previously engaged to Diaz. The Department of Justice revealed that the couple posed as Hadley online to fabricate multiple fake sexual assault reports. These deceptive claims were designed to falsely implicate Hadley and led to her spending 88 days in custody before investigators discovered the deception. Hadley was formally cleared of all charges on January 9, 2017.
