India, Aug. 20 -- Balan, which brings together noted filmmakers Chidambaram and Jithu Madhavan as a director-writer combo, has kicked off shoo ting with a pooja ceremony. Veteran filmmaker Priyadarshan and Coolie Soubin Shahir were also in attendance as the Balan makers began filming.

Balan is an upcoming Malayalam film, which is helmed by Chidambaram, best known for helming Manjummel Boys. The film is also penned by another filmmaker Jithu Madhavan, who made Fahadh Faasil-led Aavesham.
