India, Sept. 23 -- Actor-director Anshuman Jha has reflected on his decision to pursue acting despite pressure to choose a conventional career, saying performers need to commit fully to their craft rather than keep an alternative career in reserve.
Choosing Acting Over IAS Career
Jha recalled that his mother wanted him to become an IAS officer, but he had already decided that acting was the career he wanted. He deliberately chose arts after being pushed towards science in school and eventually secured admission to St Xavier's College, Mumbai.
Looking back, he said acting was never a fallback option for him. Jha argued that actors who maintain backup plans may not make the same level of commitment to their profession.
