India, Oct. 27 -- Actor Alan Dysert, known for ABC’s television series All My Children, died at age 75 after battling a rare form of cancer, according to a statement from his wife, Michelle Dysert, shared on his Facebook page. The statement said Dysert died on Friday, Oct. 23.

Michelle Dysert’s statement said Alan Dysert faced “more than his share of health challenges” and continued to approach life with “determination, humor, and gratitude.” She wrote that he “fought hard for the life he loved,” and said she was “honored to stand beside him through it all.”
