Turns out, there was more to the story. Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan had worked on Bhool Bhulaiyaa and hoped to take the franchise forward together, but the timing did not work out. That is when Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise was taken ahead with Anees Bazmee and Kartik Aaryan.
