Dhaka, Oct. 29 -- The first unit of the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant has received approval to begin the process of supplying nuclear-generated electricity to Bangladesh's national grid for the first time, initially on a limited scale.

The approval was granted by the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Regulatory Authority (BAERA).

Following the approval, the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant authorities are preparing to initiate the process of supplying electricity to the national grid. The first unit is expected to begin generating electricity within the next month.
