Dhaka, Nov. 3 -- Electricity supply from the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant to the national grid is expected to begin within 5-6 weeks, if everything goes as planned. Science and Technology Minister Fakir Mahbub Anam said power generation would begin ensuring 100 percent safety.

He made the remarks at a press conference held at the Secretariat at the Ministry of Science and Technology.

The minister said power generation would start at 300 megawatts and gradually increase in phases.
