Dhaka, Nov. 3 -- The draft of the 'Special Solar Power Ordinance 2026' has received policy and final approval to ensure the rapid expansion of solar power activities in the country.

The approval was given at a Cabinet meeting on Monday, chaired by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

In accordance with the requirements of Article 93 of the Constitution, the draft was approved for presentation as a bill at the next session of Parliament, subject to vetting by the Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Division.

Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Gani disclosed the information at a press briefing held at the conference room of the Department of Information following the meeting.
