A cabinet committee has been formed, with the Finance Minister as its convener, to adjust wholesale and retail electricity prices.

The initiative has been taken in light of rising global fuel prices, which have impacted the cost of electricity in the country. A gazette notification in this regard was issued on Monday by the Cabinet Division.

The notification was issued by Additional Secretary Humayun Kabir by order of the President.

According to the notification, the committee, led by Finance Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, includes State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Iqbal Hasan Mahmud and Commerce Minister Khandaker Abdul Muqtadir as me...
