Bangladesh, United States Sign Energy Cooperation MoU
Bangladesh, May 15 -- Bangladesh and the United States have signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the energy sector.
The agreement was signed on the morning of May 14 (U.S. time) at the U.S. Department of Energy in Washington, D.C. U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright signed on behalf of the United States, while Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman signed on behalf of Bangladesh.
Under the agreement, Bangladesh will import energy products worth one billion U.S. dollars annually from the United States.
According to sources at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bangladesh will import U.S. LNG, LPG, and other energy products under the deal.
