Kathmadnu, April 1 -- The United States has lowered Nepal to Level 2 in its travel advisory list, advising travellers to exercise increased caution due to the possibility of protests.

The move signals a relative easing of restrictions on travel to Nepal, with the country now considered safe compared to the period during and after the recent Gen Z protests.

Earlier, following the Gen Z movement, Nepal had been placed under Level 3 on September 11, which advises travellers to reconsider travel.

Level 4 recommends not travelling, while Level 1 indicates normal conditions where basic precautions are sufficient.
