Syangja, March 6 -- Vote counting in Syangja-2 has yet to begin after a dispute emerged over 171 ballots found without the polling officer's signature.

The unsigned ballots were discovered at the Baljyoti School polling centre in ward 10 of Waling Municipality, triggering objections from parties.

The issue had earlier briefly halted voting on election day. Polling resumed later after an all-party agreement at the polling centre.

However, the same issue has now affected the counting process.

Discussions are underway among concerned officials and political representatives at the District Administration Office to resolve the dispute.
