Kathmandu, June 22 -- UML vice-chair and former finance minister Bishnu Paudel was arrested in Surkhet on Monday in connection with a money laundering investigation.

A Home Ministry source said Paudel was detained at the request of the Department of Money Laundering Investigation, which has been investigating him.

Police arrested Paudel in Surkhet following the department's request, the source said.

Further details of the investigation were not immediately available.
