Kathmandu, Aug. 27 -- UML leader Ain Mahar on Wednesday for investigation after the Kathmandu District Court allowed his arrest.
Mahar faces allegations under the Electronic Transition Act. The case was filed by Rashmila Dhami, a resident of Bajhang, who accused him of defamation and character assassination.
Based on her complaint, the Kathmandu District Court permitted the police to arrest him on Monday.
The Cyber Bureau of the police carried out the arrest. Mahar is being presented in court today for an extension of custody.
He is a central committee member of the ruling party.
