Nepal, March 12 -- Two persons including a police official were injured in an attack on a police officer in Manahari of Makawanpur district.

The incident followed police firing that took place after an attack on a police officer, the police said.

The injured included Assistant Sub Inspector of Police Dil Bahadur Tamang and 19-year-old Sanis Titung of ward 12 of Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City. The police have arrested two persons in connection with the incident.

The police said the fire was opened in self-defence after Titung and other youths attacked Assistant Sub Inspector Tamang with a beer bottle, khukuri and axe.
