Probe committee submits report on Ganesh Nepali self-immolation
Kathmandu, Aug. 6 -- appointed committee investigating the self-immolation and death of Ganesh Nepali in Kathmandu has submitted its report, paving the way for the Cabinet to decide on any further action.
The panel, led by former High Court judge Keshab Prasad Bastola, submitted its findings on Sunday, according to one of its members.
The committee interviewed eyewitnesses, officials from the Kathmandu Metropolitan City Police, Nepal Police personnel stationed near the scene, and doctors involved in Nepali's treatment. It also reviewed CCTV footage from the site of the incident.
The Cabinet formed the panel on July 22, appointing Bastola to lead an independent investigation into the case.
