Khotang, Feb. 8 -- Over 100 people fell ill after attending a wedding feast in Diplung, ward 6 of Jantedhunga Rural Municipality. The incident occurred on Wednesday, with symptoms appearing from the next day.
Kul Bahadur Paudel, chief of Khotang Health Office, said the cases were due to food poisoning. "They are showing symptoms of food poisoning, and treatment is ongoing," he said.
Up to Saturday, patients were treated at three different locations. As their numbers began to decrease, the rural municipality's vice-chair Khem Bahadur Khadka said treatment has been centralised at Nigalbas Bhanjyang since Sunday morning.
