Kathmandu, March 24 -- The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index increased by 23.83 points (0.81 percent) on Tuesday, the third trading day of the week, to settle at 2960.40 points. However, total turnover declined to Rs 14.83 billion from Rs 15.78 billion in the previous session, when the benchmark index closed at 2936.56 points.
Tuesday's close marks the highest level in eight months, since the market stood at 2922.63 points on July 31, 2025.
The market continued to surge for the fifth consecutive day, advancing by 161.55 points (5.65 percent) over the period.
During Tuesday's session, the pre-open recorded a gain of 6.90 points. The market remained volatile until around 2:15 pm, when buying pressure pushed the market higher.
