Kathmandu, July 31 -- A Nepali migrant worker has been killed in an Iranian missile strike in Kuwait, marking the second Nepali fatality linked to the ongoing West Asia conflict.

The victim has been identified as 44-year-old Som Kumar Tamang from Terhathum district in eastern Nepal.

According to the Nepali Embassy in Kuwait, Tamang was killed on Thursday, when an Iranian missile struck a building belonging to a Chinese company in northern Kuwait. He had been working in Kuwait as a driver since 2022.

With this death, the number of Nepali migrant workers killed since the conflict escalated in the region has risen to two. The first was Diwas Shrestha from Gorkha district, who was killed in the United Arab Emirates.
