Kathmandu, May 25 -- The Lalitpur District Court has issued a 21-day public notice in the name of Jyoti Gurung, former wife of Nepali Congress leader Dhanraj Gurung, in connection with an alleged misappropriation of funds at Lalitpur-based Miteri Cooperative.

The court issued the notice on Monday, directing Jyoti to appear before it in person or through a legal representative with evidence and a written response.

She has been accused of embezzling around Rs 125 million from the cooperative. Dhanraj has also been linked to the case. However, proceedings against him were dropped after police were unable to establish his involvement.

The notice includes her family details, listing Dhanraj Gurung as her spouse.
