Jhapa, Sept. 16 -- Authorities in Jhapa district on Tuesday declared night-time prohibitory orders in three municipalities to maintain peace, protect public property, and ensure the safety of residents.

Gopal Kumar Adhikari, chief district officer of the district, said that the restrictions have been enforced across the municipal areas of Birtamod and Damak, while in Bhadrapur, they apply from Chandragadhi Airport in the east to Lekhnath Chowk in the west, Dhanush Chowk in the north, and Rastriya Banijya Bank office in the south.

The order, effective daily from 8 pm to 4 am, bars movement or gatherings of more than five people without approval.

Security personnel have been authorised to detain and take action against violators.
