Government to cut around 1,800 civil service posts in bureaucracy overhaul
Kathmandu, July 29 -- The government is preparing to cut around 1,800 civil service posts, including ten secretary-level positions, as it moves ahead with a major restructuring of the federal bureaucracy aimed at making the state administration leaner and more efficient.
The planned reductions follow a government-wide Organisation and Management (O&M) survey conducted across all ministries after the Balendra Shah administration pledged to reform the civil service, reduce administrative costs and streamline government operations.
