Government announces Vision Kathmandu 2040 with integrated urban infrastructure plan
Kathmandu, May 29 -- The government has unveiled the implementation of the long-term Vision Kathmandu 2040 plan aimed at transforming urban service management in the Kathmandu Valley.
Presenting the budget for fiscal year 2026-27 on Friday, Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle said the plan will focus on integrated urban infrastructure development, including underpasses, flyovers, intersection improvements, river corridor infrastructure, park construction, waste management systems, utility ducts and underground electricity wiring.
The initiative is designed to improve overall urban service delivery in the Kathmandu Valley through coordinated infrastructure upgrades and long-term planning.
