Government, family reach three-point agreement over Bara girl's killing
Kathmandu, Aug. 23 -- The government and the family of a girl who was killed in ward 1 of Jeetpursimara Sub-metropolitan City of Bara have reached a three-point agreement.
The agreement was reached during talks at the home ministry on Saturday evening between Home Minister Sudan Gurung, other government ministers and officials, and the girl's parents.
Under the agreement, the government will review existing legal provisions on offences and punishments for serious crimes and submit a report with recommendations for possible amendments within seven days. The Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs will form a seven-member committee to carry out the review.
