Kathmandu, Sept. 27 -- The Kaligandaki river flooded a settlement in Parbat district in western Nepal, washing away around 80 houses, while a landslide in neighbouring Palpa district killed one person and left two others missing on Sunday.

The flooding began entering Farse settlement in Jaljala Rural Municipality-8 on Saturday night, prompting residents to move to safer locations.

Authorities have not yet confirmed whether anyone was killed or injured in Parbat. Other houses in the settlement remain at high risk, police said.
