Kathmandu, Jan. 5 -- 'Introduction to Mithila Art', an exhibition walkthrough, will be held on January 9, 2026, from 3:00 pm onwards at Siddhartha Art Gallery, Kathmandu. Artist SC Suman will lead this session.

This initiative is designed to provide viewers with an understanding of the historical and symbolic elements of Mithila art. Generally associated with depicting nature, everyday life, and deities, Mithila art is a detailed, vibrant painting style from the Tarai Region of Nepal.

Suman is a Mithila artist who has held 14 solo shows in Nepal and other countries. He was also the head of the department of Folk Arts at the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts.
