Sindhuli, Oct. 6 -- The Sindhuli administration has asked travellers to use alternative routes after floods and landslides damaged a 22-kilometre section of the BP Highway between Nepalthok and Chauki Danda in Sindhuli.

Officials said traffic to Kathmandu can be routed through Sindhulimadi via the Madan Bhandari Highway to Hetauda, or through Khurkot, crossing the Sunkoshi River to reach Ramechhap's Manthali and Dolakha's Charikot before joining the Araniko Highway.

While the 110-kilometre Bardibas-Sindhuli-Nepalthok stretch remains open, authorities estimate it will take several days to reopen a temporary track on the damaged section. Sindhulimadi is around 120 kilometres from Hetauda.
