Jammu, Aug. 8 -- Jammu and Kashmir Police has issued a detailed cyber safety advisory warning people about the growing misuse of artificial intelligence (AI), deepfake and photo-morphing technologies by cyber criminals to create fake identities, manipulated videos and impersonation scams using publicly available personal content.
The police cautioned that a social media profile that may appear harmless to its owner can provide valuable material to cyber criminals. With the rapid advancement of AI-powered tools, publicly available photographs, videos, reels and even voice clips can be manipulated and repurposed to create highly convincing fake content that can be difficult to distinguish from genuine material.
