UDHAMPUR, April 11 -- Even a brief spell of rain has exposed serious drainage issues across multiple areas of Udhampur, including the main bazaar and some other localities within municipal limits, as roads were seen turning into waterlogged stretches resembling small streams. Local residents and shopkeepers expressed concern over the recurring problem, stating that even minimal rainfall leads to accumulation of water on the streets. The primary reason behind the situation is said to be blocked and poorly maintained drainage systems, which fail to carry rainwater efficiently.
