Udhampur, Nov. 8 -- Continuing its intensified drive against bovine smuggling, Udhampur Police rescued 16 bovine animals in two separate incidents and seized both vehicles used in the crime.
Acting on a reliable input, Police Party of Police Post Jaganoo under PS Udhampur established a naka near Tawi Bridge, Jaganoo, and intercepted a Tata Yodha vehicle (JK14E-8153) coming from Dhalphar side. During checking, 06 bovine animals tied cruelly and being transported illegally towards Ramban/Srinagar were rescued. The accused driver Rahim Ali S/o Jamal Din and co-driver Mohd Gani S/o Noor Mohd, both residents of Tharad, Udhampur, were arrested.
In this regards a Case under relevant sections of law stands registered at PS Udhampur.
