Udhampur, Oct. 6 -- In a continued drive against bovine smuggling, Udhampur Police has foiled two separate attempts of illegal transportation of bovine animals and rescued 16 animals in the jurisdiction of Police Station Chenani.
A police party of PS Chenani while performing Naka checking duty at Naka Motor Shed NHW Chenani signalled a vehicle (Mahindra Bolero Pickup, Regd. No. JK19A-3191) to stop, which was on its way from Udhampur towards Srinagar. The driver stopped his vehicle a few meters ahead and fled from the spot. Upon checking, 07 bovine animals were found loaded in a cruel manner for illegal transportation towards Kashmir without DM permission.
