Jammu, Oct. 4 -- Senior Congress leader and DDC Suchetgarh, Taranjit Singh Tony, has demanded an upgraded, high-powered Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by an officer of at least SSP rank in the Sainik Colony murder and firing case to ensure justice and restore public confidence in the system.

Tony said that only a fair and professional probe by a powerful SIT can uphold the credibility of law and order in the Union Territory. He welcomed the DGP's move to constitute an SIT but stressed the need for reputed and result-oriented officers from diverse backgrounds to ensure transparency and balance.
