SRINAGAR, Oct. 5 -- Rajya Sabha Member and BJP leader Engineer Ghulam Ali Khatana on Sunday highlighted India's growing capabilities in the semiconductor and manufacturing sectors, saying the developments under the Narendra Modi-led government are strengthening the country's position in advanced technology and manufacturing.
Khatana said India's semiconductor mission has progressed from announcements towards production, commercialisation and localisation. Semiconductor projects worth around Rs 1.65 lakh crore are being developed across six states, while India accounts for nearly 20 per cent of the global chip-design and VLSI workforce.
