Jammu, March 21 -- Drawing lessons from the August 2025 cloudburst tragedy in Chishoti, which claimed 48 lives, the administration has intensified preparations to ensure a safe and smooth Machail Mata Yatra in Kishtwar district this year.
In a significant step, pilgrims undertaking the annual yatra will be provided with Radio Frequency Identification Device (RFID) cards and real-time weather updates, similar to the system adopted for the Vaishno Devi shrine. The move aims to enhance tracking, safety, and timely decision-making during adverse weather conditions.
