RAMBAN, June 9 -- In a major action against organized crime of bovine smuggling and illegal accumulation of wealth, District Police Ramban has attached movable property worth approximately Rs 08 lakhs under Section 107 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).
The action was taken during the investigation of FIR No. 03/2026 registered under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 11 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. During the course of investigation, it surfaced that the owner of the vehicle had purchased the vehicle bearing registration no. JK19A3287 acquired through the proceeds generated from bovine smuggling.
