Jammu, March 19 -- Persistent rainfall lashed Jammu on Thursday, bringing a sudden chill back to the region. The showers, which began around 10 a.m., continued steadily till evening, with light to moderate rain recorded across several parts of the city. Accompanied by cold winds, the weather disrupted normal life and led to a noticeable dip in temperatures.
According to the Meteorological Department, the wet spell is likely to persist across the region, including Jammu and Srinagar, over the next 24 hours. Higher-altitude areas may also witness fresh snowfall. A yellow alert has been issued for Friday, with forecasts indicating moderate to heavy rainfall in some areas and snowfall in parts of the Kashmir Valley.
