JAMMU, May 12 -- The Jammu and Kashmir unit of Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) on Monday urged the Government and the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board to give priority to local youth, traders and small service providers in all services and contracts related to the upcoming Shri Amarnath Yatra.

Addressing mediapersons, party's J&K chief Manish Sahni said that the Amarnath Yatra is not only a matter of faith but also a lifeline for Jammu and Kashmir's economy. Thousands of families associated with tourism, transport, hotels, horse services, pithu, palki, tent businesses and small trade depend on the annual pilgrimage for their livelihood.

He said that after "Operation Sindoor", the tourism sector in Jammu and Kashmir suffered heavy losses....
