Jammu, April 29 -- The Jammu and Kashmir Finance Department has directed all government offices, public sector undertakings (PSUs), and institutions across the Union Territory to expedite the installation of pre-paid smart electricity meters and shift to a pre-payment system for power consumption. In a circular issued by the Finance Department, all administrative departments have been asked to ensure the installation of pre-paid smart meters in government buildings and residential quarters on a priority basis, in coordination with the Power Development Department and its distribution companies (DISCOMs).
