SRINAGAR, June 10 -- A special police officer was 'disengaged' from service in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district for his alleged involvement in an NDPS case, police said on Wednesday.

Baramulla Police has disengaged SPO Khalid Nazir Khan, a resident of Katipora, Tangmarg, from the SPO cadre with immediate effect following his involvement in an NDPS case, a police spokesman said.

He said that during naka checking at Wussan Crossing in Kunzer area of the north Kashmir district on April 23 this year, police intercepted a vehicle.

The occupants in the vehicle, including the SPO, were found in a suspicious condition, the spokesman said.
