LUCKNOW, Oct. 30 -- More than 2.24 crore farmers in Uttar Pradesh on Friday received Rs 4,482.19 crore as a fresh instalment under the PM-KISAN scheme. The amount was credited to the bank accounts of beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme through direct benefit transfer, the state government said in a statement. Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 24th instalment of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi from Banaskantha, Gujarat.
The central government transferred Rs 18,690 crore to the accounts of over 9.34 crore farmers across the country. Under the scheme, one member of each eligible farmer family receives Rs 6,000 per year in three instalments of Rs 2,000 each.
