SRINAGAR, Aug. 31 -- Nitish Kumar, IPS, a 1999-batch officer, has assumed charge as the Additional Director General of Police (ADG), Armed Police, Jammu and Kashmir.
Before his appointment, the additional charge of the Armed Wing was being looked after by Shri V. K. Birdi, IPS, Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone.
Soon after assuming charge, Shri Nitish Kumar met senior officers at the Armed Police Headquarters and reviewed the functioning of the Armed Wing. The meeting focused on key operational, administrative and organisational matters.
